Family Reunion

What a week!!!.
These pictures represent some of the wonderful memories my brother
Champ and I made when we took my mom back to her family reunion
last summer. In a lot of ways I guess each of us had our own
personal journey of discovery and reconnection with our roots.
For me being able to see my mother reminisce with her last two
living sisters (my Aunt Honeybee & Aunt Peaches) about family
history and how they all got those nicknames (my mom's is "Little
Mama") was my defining point. That and that good southern
cookin is probably what I'll remember for years to come (I know
my stomach won't let me forget). My thanks to all the family
members who made this special event possible.
